Camping is one of the most popular recreation activities in the Sierra National Forest. Huntington lake is located 65 miles Northwest of Fresno. Whether you are interested in hiking, biking, camping, backpacking, picnicking, driving off-highway, fishing or any of the other popular recreational activities, this is the place to be. The ideal camping time in most Forest areas is May to October, prior to winter storm activity. Reservation campgrounds are available, however some Forest campgrounds are operated on a first-come, first-served system. Water taken from nearby rivers and streams should be boiled prior to consumption. Bears, raccoons, and other critters generally become a problem in campgrounds, so we need to be very careful with our food storage. |
