Hello Kitty Town Johor Bahru Malaysia December 2013

Hello Kitty Town Johor Bahru Malaysia December 2013

We took the coach bus to cross border from Singapore to Malaysia. We bought tickets for 2 theme parks near Leogoland - Hello Kitty Town (first of its kind outside Japan) and Little Big Club. The combined 2 parks' ticket cost RM110 (foreigner) & RM85 (Malaysian) each. The Hello Kitty Town is quite interesting. It consists of various walk-through attractions, interactive activities and rides which follow the Hello Kitty theme. Key features include, Black Wonder, a hi-tech interactive themed experience and Kitty House, an iconic Hello Kitty house complete with living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. We also like the "Purrfect" stage performance with the Hello Kitty and her friends where they will showcase a live performance. There are also jewelry making, costume dress up at the photo studio as well as visit the nail salon to decorate nails with Sanrio characters nail art. In addition, Hello Kitty shaped cookies is also available at the cookie studio and make the Hello Kitty doll at the doll factory at the Wishful Studio.

For the Little Big Club, it is a playground with slides, performance stage for Barney and some arcade machines for kids. This is where Barney, Angelina Ballerina, Pingu, Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends are found. Each character has a corresponding play area: Barney has a playhouse, Angelina Ballerina a dance studio, Pingu a winter wonderland, and Bob a building hub. We watched Barney perform in his very own sing-a-long show. Thomas and Friends has the entire fourth floor filled with rides. There are the Bertie the bus ride, fly on Harold the Helicopter, Toby Windmill Ride, Sir Topham Hatt's play station and the fun Thomas & Friends Imagination Station. There are cafes on both levels and the food is priced reasonably; outside food and beverages seem to be discreetly tolerated. Malaysian ringgit is the currency to use and credit cards are accepted.
