China Folk Cultural Village (中國民俗文化村) is located at the Overseas Chinese Town in Shenzhen. It is right next to the Windows of the World (世界之窗) and Splendid China (锦绣中华) so you can definitely try to visit these three attractions in the same trip. Covering a total area of 200,000 square kilometers (or 494 acres), the China Folk Cultural Village is the first large-scale cultural and scenic spot assembling China's folk and ethnic arts, customs, and residential buildings of ethnic groups together. It features life-size replicas of 24 villages chosen from areas inhabited by ethnic peoples in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.
There are the performance of Villages, Folk dance and sing of the central playhouse. We also tried the local snacks, watch the handicrafts and browse the variety of diverse souvenirs. As with most Shenzhen theme parks, you can go just for the fixed exhibits but the real meat is in the shows. Uygur women twirl to Turkish music, Miaos dance, a miniskirted Ming Dynasty troupe performs electronic versions of Ming music and dance. There is even a Tibetan rock band and the wonderful Mongol horse battle that is held daily. Highly recommended!
