Shenzhen Safari Park (or commonly called Shenzhen Zoo) is located in Xili University District, Nanshan. It is about a 20-25 minute taxi ride from the train station and cost us around 40 RMB to get there. There are more than 300 breeds of animals live here. Many of them are rare animals in the world or national protected animals in China. Pandas, giraffes, Asian elephants, red-crowned cranes, Siberian tigers and flamingos all could be found in this park. Once we arrived, we walk down the main drive entrance and purchased our tickets at the ticket counter, priced at 130 RMB for adults and kids are free. There're basically two options we can take at go around the park; walk around, which take a bit longer time but the best option to see everything, or catch the horse carriage ride, which costs another 300 RMB. July is a hot summer day and we took the horse carriage ride and it's highly recommended. Along the ride, we stopped at numerous ares where we can feed the animals like elephants/giraffe or try on novelty ride; all cost an additional fee at around 10 RMB.
Another main attraction is animal performance at the Elephants and Tigers Show Hall. This is an amazing show with tiger and lion all in the same cage, it is a must see and do event at the park. All in all, we think the park is worthwhile place to go for all families, especially with young kids. Enjoy the photos!
