1. Overall Rating (0–10) — 7.0
This photograph captures the energy and scale of a major tech conference, with the vibrant stage lighting and bold CES branding creating an atmosphere of innovation and spectacle. The silhouetted audience adds depth and perspective, grounding the scene in the reality of a live event. While the image effectively conveys the mood of the moment, the lighting contrast between the stage and the darkened audience slightly diminishes the clarity of the foreground.

2. Composition (0–10) — 7.5
The stage is centered and balanced, with the speaker positioned to the right of the prominent CES logo, creating a natural visual flow. The audience in the foreground provides depth and context, though their silhouettes obscure detail, which slightly disrupts the compositional harmony.

3. Lighting (0–10) — 8.0
The stage is illuminated with dynamic, colorful spotlights that enhance the futuristic feel of the event. The contrast between the bright stage and the dark audience creates a theatrical effect, effectively drawing focus to the speaker and branding.

4. Color & Tone (0–10) — 7.5
The palette is dominated by cool blues and purples, punctuated by the warm glow of yellow and green lights, lending a high-tech, energetic tone. The bold colors of the CES logo stand out clearly against the backdrop, enhancing brand visibility.

5. Creativity (0–10) — 7.0
The image captures a common event setting but elevates it through strong lighting and composition, creating a visually engaging moment. The use of silhouettes adds narrative weight, suggesting a shared experience among the audience.

6. Technical Quality (0–10) — 8.0
The image is sharp and well-exposed on the stage, with clean detail in the logo and speaker. The focus is appropriate, though the low-light conditions in the audience area result in some loss of detail, which is expected in such environments.

7. Emotional Impact (0–10) — 7.0
The photograph evokes a sense of anticipation and excitement, capturing the communal energy of a major industry event. The audience’s engagement, though implied through silhouettes, contributes to a feeling of shared purpose and technological optimism.

The world's biggest annual consumer technology show is in full swing, welcoming back thousands of exhibitors and media to Las Vegas, following an unusually quiet and pandemic-impacted CES 2022. Part of the magic of CES is just the ability for people from around the world from all different industries to come together to meet, to have conversations about the latest innovations and technologies. People will continue to have these ideas despite all these headwinds and macro pressures that they may face throughout life. People are going to continue to dream. They're going to continue to have big ideas, and there's no better place to see that on display than at CES.

Around 2,400 exhibitors are present at CES 2023, which take place over three days in January and feature numerous major players like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm, LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and JBL. Many of these technological companies often unveil their most cutting-edge developments and the best items they will be releasing that year at CES. As well as all the newest technology and gadgets from automakers, I have already seen demos of the next-generation flagship 2023 TVs from LG and Samsung.

A future midsize electric vehicle featuring an augmented reality windshield, a digital assistant, and color-changing technology was introduced by BMW as the I Vision Dee. The exterior of the automobile is made up of 240 E Ink segments that can be individually manipulated; you can choose a solid color if you'd like, but since each individual panel can be altered, you can create whatever kind of patchwork pattern you like. The totally digital, mixed reality windshield, though, has to be the most intriguing new feature. You will have control over how much "digital stuff," such as navigational data, communications, AR projections, and virtual worlds, you view in front of you as you drive.

BMW make use of technology developed by the US-based E Ink Corporation, which is behind e-readers and various smartwatches. A film coating on the car contains tiny microcapsules whose pigments change when electricity is applied. While E Ink has seen a number of applications over the years, BMW says it’s unique to the automotive sector, developed and programmed by in-house engineers. It uses the latest tech called Prism 3 film, which is fully programmable and meant to be low on power consumption for sustainability. Prism 3 can also be manufactured in any shape, making industrial design applications seemingly endless. As with any concept vehicle, the technology behind the color-changing capabilities is likely years away from consumer availability. Exposure to the elements in day-to-day driving for example car washes & dusts will keep the panels from performing in the real world.

Sony and Honda presented the Afeela, an electric midsized vehicle. The partnership between the two businesses operates as follows: Sony handles the tech side of things, including electronics, sensors, and entertainment, while Honda handles the car engineering and after-sales support portion. While the entire body of the EV is fitted with dozens of cameras and sensors to identify things and allow autonomous driving, the front of the vehicle features a built-in display that can be utilized to communicate information to other drivers and pedestrians. Inside, Qualcomm technology and Epic Games' Unreal Engine power the car's interface, which improves the driving experience and offers a high-quality entertainment system.

The Mercedes Vision EQXX concept car is the most effective Mercedes to date because it was built from the bottom up and can drive up to 620 miles on a full charge without using any additional large batteries. The EQXX has an AI avatar that is futuristic, like K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, but on a single free-floating display. I need to decide if I feel the interior or exterior to be more attractive.

Volkswagen followed a more conventional strategy. Its ID.Aero concept is now known as the ID.7, a mid-size electric sedan scheduled to go into production soon. Despite being painted with a color-changing, lighted, and electrified paint, the façade is still currently hidden. An enormous 15-inch infotainment screen can be found inside, and, not to be outdone by BMW, there is also a brand-new augmented head-up display. A newer climate control system has been added as well, and it automatically changes the direction of the airflow to heat or cool the vehicle as the driver approaches.

Ram unveiled the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV, its first ever fully electric pickup truck. It is equipped with back-swinging suicide doors, three rows of seats, an AR display, an AI personal assistant and "themes" for the interior of the car. For example, you can enable party mode or relax mode -- each changes the seat positions and orientation, lighting, sound system and even the opacity of the skylight. But the most interesting thing about the electric truck has to be its "shadow mode" feature, which allows the truck to follow the driver around, sort of like a dog, when they're on foot.

1. Overall Rating (0–10) — 7.0
This dish presents a compelling fusion of rustic comfort and modern gastronomy, where the rich, slow-cooked meat and creamy risotto are elevated by a delicate foam and thoughtful garnish. The composition captures the essence of a fine-dining experience, with a warm, inviting palette and a focus on texture and contrast. While the background elements add context, they slightly distract from the main subject, which could be more isolated to enhance visual clarity.

2. Composition (0–10) — 6.5
The dish is centrally framed, drawing attention to the main elements, but the background clutter—particularly the glass and cutlery—creates visual noise. A tighter crop or shallow depth of field would better isolate the food and emphasize its artistry.

3. Lighting (0–10) — 7.0
Soft, ambient lighting enhances the textures of the foam and risotto, creating a warm and inviting mood. The light reflects gently off the plate and glass, contributing to the dish’s visual appeal without harsh shadows.

4. Color & Tone (0–10) — 7.5
The creamy off-white of the risotto contrasts beautifully with the deep brown of the meat and the vibrant foam. The golden beer in the background adds a complementary warm tone, while the subtle green and yellow garnish provide a touch of freshness and color balance.

5. Creativity (0–10) — 8.0
The use of foam as a textural and visual element demonstrates a creative approach to plating, elevating a classic dish into something more modern and conceptual. The combination of traditional ingredients with contemporary techniques reflects thoughtful culinary design.

6. Technical Quality (0–10) — 8.0
The image is sharp and well-focused, with clear detail in the risotto grains and the foam’s delicate bubbles. The exposure is balanced, preserving texture and color without overexposure or underexposure.

7. Emotional Impact (0–10) — 7.0
The photograph evokes a sense of indulgence and care, inviting the viewer to appreciate both the craftsmanship and the sensory experience of the meal. The warmth and richness of the dish resonate emotionally, suggesting comfort and sophistication in equal measure.

1. Overall Rating (0–10) — 7.5
This photograph captures a decadent dessert with inviting detail, showcasing a crème brûlée crowned with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a dusting of powdered sugar. The composition draws the eye to the rich textures and colors of the dish, while the ambient lighting enhances its appeal. A slight overexposure in the background and a slightly cluttered setting detract from its elegance, but the central focus remains strong and appetizing.

2. Composition (0–10) — 7.0
The dish is well-centered and framed to highlight its textures and ingredients, though the surrounding elements—such as the cup and glass—create visual distractions that slightly weaken the balance.

3. Lighting (0–10) — 7.5
Soft, warm lighting enhances the dessert’s richness and creates appealing highlights on the cream and sugar, while avoiding harsh shadows that might obscure detail.

4. Color & Tone (0–10) — 8.0
The vibrant red of the strawberry, deep black of the berries, and creamy white of the whipped cream create a visually harmonious palette, contrasted against the warm caramel tones of the crème brûlée and the neutral marble backdrop.

5. Creativity (0–10) — 7.0
The image presents a familiar subject with a fresh, appetizing perspective, emphasizing texture and natural arrangement. While not radically original, the focus on the interplay of color and light gives it a thoughtful, food-styled aesthetic.

6. Technical Quality (0–10) — 8.0
The image is sharp and clear, with good focus on the dessert and a shallow depth of field that blurs the background subtly, enhancing the subject’s prominence.

7. Emotional Impact (0–10) — 8.0
The photograph evokes indulgence and comfort, inviting the viewer to savor the dessert’s richness and craftsmanship. Its warmth and detail create a sense of anticipation and pleasure.

Great dinner at the Italian restarant BRERA osteria at the Venetian. I ordered the BRAISED PORK SHANK which is absolutely tender and delicious. The HAZELNUT CREME BRULEE is a great dessert after the meal.

For anyone who goes to CES, I personally think CES is a beacon of hope and optimism. It starts the new year not only on a positive note, but on a note where you realize that you could feel and touch the future, and you could achieve the impossible, you could be inspired, you could find great products, you could establish partner relationships which will change the business or even change the world.
